No Container, No Ship & Port, Rising Price! What Happen?

There have been a lot of things happening recently! The typhoons have been lasting for a while and the peak of the levy of tariffs have not stopped, National Day is coming!

What is more, on the one hand, many Shipping Companies and major Shipping Alliances are busy rising the price and stopping the container; on the other hand, they have annouced the plans to suspend the Port Operation.

According to the reports, not only due to the pressure of rising fuel prices and the losses in the first half of the year, but also the experience of Ship Company in previous years and the bearishness of goods during the holiday, many Shipping Companies and several major Shipping Alliances have announced the plans to suspend the Port Operation!

The Ocean Alliance of COSCO, OOCL, CMA CGM and Evergreen have canceled two voyages of “Asia-Northern Europe”, and plan to cancel two voyages of Mediterranean in October.

2M Alliance, such as Maersk, also announced that will suspend an “Asia-Northern Europe” service at the end of September or early October.

THE Alliance also announced that will suspend two voyages in “Asia-Europe” and “Asia-Mediterranean” for ship repairs and plans to suspend the following voyages during the Golden Week.

Illegal Immigration Group Shut Down by Chinese Police!

As of August this year, the crime detection and the criminal detention rates in Guangdong increased 3.2% and 16.8% year-on-year, while a number of cross-border criminal gangs have been shut down by police from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, according to a press conference held by Guangdong’s Provincial Public Security Department on August 23rd.

“Four special operations were launched this year, with 3.1 billion RMB worth of illegal property being seized, ” said Liang Ruiguo, Political Commissar of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.

“An information sharing mechanism has been established between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao police forces to increase their efficiency in combating cross-border criminal gangs in the three regions.”

“As of August 15th, over 460 criminal cases were solved and more than 920 suspects were seized thanks to the joint efforts of police from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao,” added Qian Bo, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.

At the press conference, officer Ou, of the Border Control Corps of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department stated an illegal immigration group was busted by police from both Guangdong and Macao in May this year. About 30 Vietnamese illegal immigrants were arrested during the operation.

According to Ou, the illegal immigrants were previously being transferred to Macao from Zhuhai to engage in illegal forms of employment, prostitution and other criminal activities, after they entered China.

In addition, two whistleblowers wearing masks received 300 thousand RMB in cash rewards from Guangdong police, after providing tip offs that helped the police to make the arrests.

Since the announcement of the reward measure on July 5th, over 1000 tip offs have been received by Guangdong police, representing an increase of four times month on month. With the help of smart policing, Guangdong police hopes to see more cooperation like this from the general public.

Furthermore, Guangdong Police are offering rewards for information relating to 50 fugitives.

Summer Camp Boom In China: Business or Education?

Currently, summer camps are very popular among young children of middle-class families in China and it is estimated that the annual income of the summer camp will exceed 20 to 30 billion yuan, with the market expected to reach 400 billion yuan in the next 5 to 10 years, China Newsweek reported on August 20.

The background of summer camp

Summer camps are an excellent way for students to spend their summer holidays and help working parents find something for their children to do in western countries. Good News! Online Appointment For Customs Clearance Since Oct 3！

According to the announcement of GACC on the Aug 22, in order to provide a more convenient Customs Clearance Service, the Customs will implement an Internet model of “Appointment Clearance“.

Applicable situation

In case of any of the following circumstances, consignee or consignor of Import and Export, or agent (except for the company that is untrustworthy) may apply to the Customs for Customs clearance if needs to go through Customs formalities outside the normal office hours of the Customs:

National emergency relief supplies, dangerous goods;
Fresh, frozen, perishable and rotten goods requiring emergency clearance;
Other goods approved by the Customs as indeed in need of urgent inspection.

The Customs accepts the application for the appointment of Customs Clearance within the normal office hours. The enterprise must apply 24 hours in advance, and the advanced certification enterprise is 8 hours.

Operation Method

Applicants should log in to the “Internet + Customs” integrated online service platform ( http://online.customs.gov.cn ), apply the “Customs Clearance” of the “Goods Clearance”, fill in and submit the appointment online. Customs online feedback acceptance results.

Under special circumstances, the applicant submits a paper “Application for Customs Clearance” stamped with the seal of the company on the spot, and the Customs will coordinate the handling according to the emergency disposal method.

Cancel Appointment

If the enterprise cancels the appointment for any reason after the Customs agrees to make an appointment for Customs Clearance, , it shall contact the Customs in time and submit a statement within 5 days after the event.
