According to public information, the airline’s suspension of the fuel surcharge on domestic routes was related to the decline in the ex-factory price of domestic aviation kerosene in January this year.

Will the fee be restored later?

The sales tickets before January 4, 2019 are still subject to the fuel surcharges as originally stipulated; the tickets sold from January 5 (including, the date of issue) will be suspension of the current basis of standard fuel surcharge.

In response to this news, the person in charge of the Ctrip(携程) said that it is only a suspension of the fuel surcharge, which does not mean that the fee is cancelled. According to relevant regulations, when the domestic aviation kerosene comprehensive procurement cost exceeds 5,000 yuan per ton, the airline can resume charging the domestic route fuel surcharge.

However, as of the publication of this article, these Airlines below have not publicly released information on the reduction of fuel surcharges.

  • Air China,

  • China Eastern Airlines.

According to previous practice, as long as one of Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Air China and China Eastern Airlines adjusts fuel surcharges, other airlines will follow up.

In 2016, an impressive total of 32.6 million people was estimated to have visited Thailand. Bangkok was also hailed as the world’s top tourist destination during the same year, beating out London.
5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

1. Hub of ASEAN

As the geographic heart of ASEAN, Thailand is regarded as the largest growing economic market and serves as a gateway to Southeast Asia connected to the world.

With its strategic location, unique advantages and the city’s appeal, Bangkok is positioned for huge growth in its property sector, attracting overseas investment and regional headquarters keen to tap into the city’s economic potential.

2. Fastest-growing City

Bangkok is ranked top 10 emerging world cities, according to new research from real-estate consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). In the past years, Bangkok has undergone several major infrastructure developments including the expansion of mass transit lines (BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway).

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

Within the capital, investors look to the core areas that constitute Bangkok’s most promising investment opportunities.

3. Legendary Charm

Despite its rapidly advanced development, Bangkok retains much of its authenticity and charm, making life here feel like an endless holiday. Hop on a river ferry to grab brunch at a five-star hotel overlooking the Chao Praya River. Explore a winding alley for tasty street food. Sip a cocktail in the latest speakeasy in Sukhumvit.

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

Get pampered at spas with unbeatable prices. Shop yourself out at markets and luxury malls. Pop out of town for a beach getaway a 1.5-hour drive away. Or just laze at home, where every conceivable service can be brought to your doorstep for a fraction of what you’d pay in other major cities.

4. Investment Opportunities

With the influx of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) coupled with the government’s 2.2-trillion-baht transportation infrastructure investment to turn Thailand into AEC logistics hub, it has driven Bangkok property to grow constantly; particularly in the inner-city locations where the prices keep breaking records year after year.

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

This fact is supported by Knight Frank’s Bangkok Condominium Research Report for Q2 2015 that the prices of newly launched luxury condominiums in the central business district (CBD) went up at a much faster with prices above THB 250,000 per square meter and tended to be skyrocketing.

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

If you are considering owning property in Bangkok, now would be the time, as the prices of high-end residential properties are still lower than those in other Asian markets, especially Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; hence providing a potentially lucrative property investment opportunity to long-term investors.

5. Welcoming, Friendlier Thai Law

According to the Condominium Act, B.E. 2522 (1979), foreigners are allowed to purchase and own condominiums up to 49% of the total space of all units in that condominium on a freehold basis.

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

Upon purchase, foreign buyers receive the same title deed as a Thai owner would, complete with details regarding the land belonging to the condominium; the unit; the owner’s name; and official seals from the competent authorities.

Buying a freehold condominium, therefore, is the ideal option for those who are looking for long-term investment with 100% ownership.

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bangkok!

Once AEC goes into effect, individuals and businesses from all over the ASEAN region will be investing in Thailand. Property prices are likely to rise quite substantially as much more foreign investment pours into the country.

Now is the time to invest in real estate in Bangkok before you are priced out of the market.

Gao Chengyong, who mutilated several of his 11 victims, was executed on Thursday, nine months after Baiyin Intermediate People’s Court in Gansu province sentenced him to death.

Most of the victims are in their 20s

Gao Chengyong, 54, nicknamed the “Jack the Ripper of China”, was sentenced to death in March by Baiyin Intermediate People’s Court in northwestern Gansu province for robbery, rape, murder and defiling the dead.

After the sentence was confirmed by the Supreme People’s Court, Gao was put to death in Baiyin on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Public Security said.

At trial in 2017, Gao pleaded guilty to crimes in Baiyin and Baotou in Inner Mongolia between 1988 and 2002. Eleven females, most of them in their 20s, became his victims.

Gao’s killings created panic as the perpetrator was said to have targeted young women who lived alone.

One of the China’s most notorious

series of unsolved crimes

In 2004, Baiyin police offered 200,000 yuan for clues that led to his capture. Before Gao was arrested 12 years later, the case was regarded by authorities as one of the country’s most notorious series of unsolved crimes.

The court found that Gao followed his victims home before raping and killing them. Many of his victims wore red clothes and he typically struck during daylight.

At Gao Chengyong’s trial, the court heard the “motives of the defendant’s crimes were despicable, his methods extremely cruel, the nature of the acts vile and the details of the crimes serious”.

Many were mutilated, their hands, ears, and private parts were cut off.

Motive for murder

“To satisfy his perverted desire to dishonour and sully corpses, many of his female victims’ corpses were damaged and violated,” Baiyin court said on Weibo when Gao was convicted in March.

“The motives of the defendant’s crimes were despicable, his methods extremely cruel, the nature of the acts vile and the details of the crimes serious,” the court said.

Police checked 100,000 pieces of fingerprint evidence while hunting for Gao. He was caught in August 2016 in Baiyin after a tip-off.

Gao was identified as a lead suspect after a distant relative was arrested for bribery and provided a partial match with DNA left at a murder site.

Police said Gao’s DNA and fingerprints matched those left at the scene of his crimes.
