As we all know, if foreigners want to work in China legally, he/she must obtain the work visa and residence permit in advance. According to your self-condition and demand, the Exit & Entry Administration Department will give you corresponding visa with different period of validity.

Work Visas Will Be Denied 

Permanently In These Cases

Applying for work visa is not just to prepare documents and to submit application. You should pay more attention to these things below since foreigners in these cases may no longer be allowed to obtain work visas!

Someone with non-graduate degree may cannot apply for work visa and extension any more.  According to the 4th item of the six criteria for CLASS-B, a new work visa application or extension from the chief representative / general representative of the Foreign Representative Office will require a bachelor degree or above.

Strict limit and quota management will be implemented to CLASS-C. That means, once the quota on CLASS-C is used up, no more new work visa for CLASS-C will be issued.

CLASS-B and CLASS-C holders whose age is more than 60, cannot apply for the new work permit or extension any more.

In principle, a small and micro enterprise can only offer work visa for one employed person. Unless the company hires a large number of Chinese employees or the business is in good condition, it’s hard to apply for the second work permit in one company.

To apply with fake documents or misrepresenting yourself, the work visa will no longer be approved and related legal liabilities will be pursued.

An abnormal record of the company in the Industrial and Commercial Bureau or an abnormal situation in the Tax Bureau will result in the work visa application being rejected.

The State Council decided to deepen the VAT reform measures to reduce the tax burden further of the market subject and unified the standard for small-scale taxpayers, starting from May 1.

VAT Rates Cut

BEIJING, March 28 — China will cut value-added tax (VAT) rates as part of a tax reduction package amounting to 400 billion yuan (about 63 billion U.S. dollars) this year.

The decision was made at a State Council executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday. It is expected to boost high-quality development.

The tax rate, starting from May 1, will be lowered from 17 percent to 16 percent for: 

• Manufacturing

And from 11 percent to 10 percent for 

• Transportation, 

• Construction,

• Basic telecommunication services

• Farm produce.

This round of tax cuts will apply to all manufacturing companies. All businesses registered in China, be they joint ventures or wholly foreign owned companies, will be treated equally, according to the premier.

The reform has also boosted entrepreneurship, innovation and the development of new industries and new forms of business. Micro and small firms have been the biggest beneficiaries in this process!

As part of the tax cut package, eligible enterprises in advanced manufacturing, modern services and electric utility shall receive a lump-sum refund for their input VAT payments yet to be deducted.

The Standard For 

Small-scale Taxpayers

The meeting also decided to unify the standard for small-scale taxpayers, as it raises the threshold of taxable annual sales volume for industrial and commercial enterprises from 500,000 yuan and 800,000 yuan, to 5 million yuan.

Enterprises registered as general taxpayers will be allowed to switch their status to small-scale taxpayers within a given time.

Li said that reducing the three tax rate brackets to two in one go was a hugely challenging job, as reforms are normally pursued step by step. Yet the goal was not beyond reach.

He stressed that no industry should see its tax burden increase in the course of VAT reform. This will be the guiding principle of all relevant reform measures.

The Gwadar Port in Pakistan, a key project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has become operational for container vessels, as it welcomed its first such ship on March 7 local time, a milestone for the China-proposed Belt and Road initiative.

Operational service lines

COSCO, which launched the Karachi Gwadar Gulf Express, will use the Karachi port, Jebel Ali port and other Emirati ports as transit ports to integrate the new shipping line into its 16 international routes and provide services for global clients.

Thereinto, these 16 international routes include ↓↓↓

• 7 shipping lines between the Far East and the Middle East

• 4 shipping lines between the Far East and Karachi

• 5 shipping lines between the South Asia/ Middle East and Europe & Mediterranean

Shipping network connects regions throughout the world and provide huge convenience to global customers. Meanwhile, it offers an easy access for traders to export cargoes to Afghanistan.

Karachi Gwadar Gulf Express

 

According to the news, The development marked the start of a container cargo shipping service between Gwadar and several Middle Eastern ports, known as the Karachi Gwadar Gulf Express (KGS), which is the first container cargo shipping service between Gwadar and the Middle East.

That means, the new Ship Container Service will connect Gwadar Port with the Middle East hub of Jebel Ali as well as the neighboring UAE ports of Abu Dhabi & Sharjah.

Importance of the Gwadar Port

Considering the importance of the Gwadar Port as focal point of CPEC, its security is paramount. For this purpose, Pakistan Navy has raised Task Force 88 to undertake defence of Gwadar Port and its surrounding areas.

This Task Force is providing defence to Gwadar Port from seaward approaches and Merchant Vessels visiting the Port through deployment of Pakistan Navy assets.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game changer project for Pakistan. Success of this project is a prelude to the economic prosperity of the country and hence has taken a central stage in the economic, political and security calculus of not only Pakistan but the entire region.

A Chinese container vessel, operated by China COSCO Shipping Corp, arrived at the deep sea port escorted by Pakistani Navy vessels. After loading frozen sea food, it departed for the Jebel Ali port in the United Arab Emirates.

This is also the only shipping line in and out of Gwadar in the global shipping market. It means Gwadar will be connected to almost all major ports in the world and represents a big leap forward in the development of Gwadar.
