WeChat Enables In-flight Mobile Payment!

WeChat Pay rolled out a pilot in-flight mobile payment service Wednesday for passengers taking two flights carried by Spring Airlines(春秋航空), 9C8887/9C8888 between Shanghai and Chengdu.

WeChat Pay users with a credit score above 550 can apply for the service, which enables them to make purchases without access to the internet during the flight and pays automatically via their accounts after landing.

The service will be promoted to other flights to improve the in-flight shopping experience, according to WeChat.

How to activate this function?

1 Search”Spring Airlines” or 春秋航空 in WeChat, and select its mini program

2 Choose “个人中心“-personal center, and then “申请微信机上支付“-apply for WeChat in-flight payment

3 Then “实名认证“-real-name authentification and “同意授权“-agree to authorize, “身份验证“-ID authentification(input your payment code)

4 Finally “申请机上免密支付“-apply for in-flight payment without code

5 Attention: 1 This feature is only available to domestic flight; 2 Please pay attention to your WeChat payment credit score and credit record!
